New SCORE partnership brings free, in-person business mentoring to Holly Springs

LHS and SCORE partnership

The LaunchHOLLYSPRINGS (LHS) Entrepreneur Center has partnered with SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, to offer high-quality, no-cost, in-person business counseling right here in Holly Springs. You don’t have to be an LHS graduate or cohort member to take advantage of this opportunity.

We know that starting or growing a business comes with plenty of questions. Am I focusing on the right things? What should I tackle first? How do I make this idea financially sustainable? Should I change my pricing? How do I grow without taking on more than I can handle?

Sometimes, what you need most is someone who has been there before—an experienced business leader who can look at your situation, ask the right questions, and help you figure out your next move. SCORE offers free expert mentoring, workshops, and resources to start, grow, or transition your small business with guidance tailored to every stage of your journey.

SCORE counseling is free, in person, and open to everyone

If you’re a Holly Springs entrepreneur who could use experienced business advice, take advantage of this new local resource. Sessions are currently full. Watch your email for an announcement when more sessions open.

What is SCORE?

SCORE is a national nonprofit organization and resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Its network of volunteers provides free mentoring, education, and resources to entrepreneurs and small business owners.

The organization has been helping entrepreneurs since 1964. Today, SCORE has more than 10,000 volunteers providing free, expert mentoring across all 50 states and U.S. territories.

Today, SCORE mentors work with business owners at many different stages, from people exploring an idea to established businesses looking for guidance on their next phase of growth.

Business advice without the price tag

One of the biggest challenges facing entrepreneurs is access to experienced, trusted advice.

You can find an enormous amount of business information online. You can read books, listen to podcasts, take courses, and ask Google just about anything. But sometimes you need to sit across the table from someone who understands business and talk through your business.

If you need or want business advice from an experienced business counselor, you can sign up for an in-person SCORE counseling session through the LHS Entrepreneur Center. The sessions are open to anyone, in keeping with the Entrepreneur Center’s ‘Entrepreneurship for All’ mission.

Meet SCORE mentor Tony Wong

The Holly Springs sessions are being led by SCORE mentor Tony Wong, who brings experience and perspective to entrepreneurs looking for practical guidance.

Holly Schwab, a LaunchHOLLYSPRINGS alumna and founder of Zach’s Toy Chest, a nonprofit supporting children with cancer, has been working with Tony as her organization continues to grow. Here’s what she had to say about the experience:

“Working with Tony Wong has been incredibly valuable as Zach’s Toy Chest continues to grow. He has helped me identify the most important challenges to focus on, break them into manageable steps, and develop solutions that fit my leadership style. Just as importantly, he’s challenged me to think differently by offering perspectives and ideas I hadn’t considered. The accountability he provides has kept me focused and moving forward, ensuring that our discussions lead to real progress rather than just good intentions. His mentorship has strengthened my confidence as a leader and is helping me guide Zach’s Toy Chest through this exciting period of growth. I’m truly grateful for his guidance, encouragement, and support.”
